Dhaka PWD Metropolitan Zone was created in 2018 for the purpose of proper monitoring of the projects implemented by PWD at the field level and to facilitate service delivery to the concerned service seekers. Under the leadership of an Additional Chief Engineer, the office has been performing the assigned government duties with 3 circles and 12 field level divisional offices under its jurisdiction. Since its inception, the office has been located in the city of Dhaka with the Secretariat, Ministry, National Parliament House Complex, High Court, Supreme Court, Secretary's residence, Minister's residence, Justice's residence, Ramna Park, Suhrawardy Udyan, various important hospitals and medical colleges of Dhaka and other government offices, courts, residences. , has been constructing and maintaining government buildings. Also, the works assigned by various organizations related to the construction of buildings are also being executed by the said office.

Activities of Dhaka PWD Metropolitan Zone:


1. Technical approval of construction official estimates and variations.
2. Proper supervision of construction and maintenance work.
3. To approve the recommendation for extension of the period of construction works under the contract.
4. Grievance readdress system.
5. Sending investigation report.
6. Issuance and renewal of contractor licenses.
7. To ensure compliance of orders announced by the Government from time to time.
8. Supervise the activities of the field offices.
9. Approval of the tender as per the Financial Empowerment Rules.
